HOW ABOUT WE DO A R/C (RADIO CONTROLLED) CAR RACING EVENT |
Mar 02, 2010 - 3:19 PM - by msk
|
HEllooo,
in wheelsbd i see many car model collectors (including me). and i am pretty much sure there are many with R/C cars as well. so if many people are interested , can we not arrange a R/C racing event?
i personally think its a great idea. all the developed countries have this kind of events. so if we as the leading automotive club in Bangladesh arrange something like this, it will add another dimension to our GREAT club.
What do you think Guys?? Please VOTE....and write your valuable comments..
(only battery powered R/C cars should be allowed) as i am sure very few have fuel powered R/C cars and they are expensive.

HC asks for traffic report
Wants monthly update on installation of speed control device on vehicles
Staff Correspondent
The High Court yesterday came forward to end reckless driving in the country by directing the government to submit within a month a report on the progress in implementing traffic laws and rules through controlling automobile speeds.
The HC move was prompted by the recent killing of kindergarten student Hamim Sheikh by reckless driving of a bus driver in the capital.
In a suo moto rule, the HC directed the government authorities to submit monthly reports to the court elaborating on the steps taken to install speed governor seals in all automobiles as per the court's earlier verdict.
The HC on June 22 last year directed Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) to... [Read More]

Good morning folks! Today will be a historical day for all of us in WheelsBD and for those who had been with WheelsBD before. First and foremost, the online crew members and offline crew members groups have been updated. We now have 36 offline crew members, 7 online crew members and 3 administrators in the website overall. That means WheelsBD currently has 46 crew members in total.
Without further ado, please welcome naaik (Anika Anjum) as our new Forum Moderator. She will be the first female to take a position such as this in WheelsBD. We welcome her to the Online Crew today. zahin91evo (Tahmid Shahjahan) will take over the Gallery as the Gallery Moderator instead of maintaining his administrative rank.
All crew members from Sylhet & Chittagong Division have been added to our crew members lineup so they will have all the privileges as other offline crew members in WheelsBD. We... [Read More]

20 upazila chairmen get Pajero's |
|
Mar 07, 2010 - 9:51 PM - by auto_freak
|

The government gave Mitsubishi Pajeros to 20 upazila chairmen at an impromptu ceremony on Sunday, in line with a decision taken last year.
Local government minister Ashraful Islam and industries minister Dilip Barua handed the keys to the chairmen at the office of Pragati Industries Ltd at Tejgaon.
The ceremony was marred by mismanagement and chaos caused by a last-minute decision asking the Pragati management to organise the event instead of the LGRD ministry.
So far, Pragati has handed over 130 V31 model Pajeros to the LGRD ministry. The first 20 chairmen were selected by lottery. The remaining chairmen will be given their jeeps in... [Read More]

New Appointments in the Executive Committee and Dhaka Crew Lineup |
|
Mar 06, 2010 - 3:29 PM - by B16A
|
Dear All:
As you may know, some positions in the Executive Committee were vacant or temporarily filled up so that WheelsBD as an organization could proceed further. In January 2010, Tanim Khan took over as the acting CMO-Dhaka of WheelsBD. Now, we are pleased to appoint Sahdin Khan (username: msk) as our new Chief Marketing Officer - Dhaka effective immediately. Tanim will join back to his previous position as Events Organizer for the Dhaka Crew.
Secondly, Taisir had to step down from the COO position as he is living in Australia. Thus came the need to find a suitable replacement for him. and after careful thought, the crew unanimously decided that the position of Chief Operating Officer - Dhaka can be filled by no other than our very own Mehedi Hasan (username: MEHEDI H)!
Last but not least, please welcome Nabil Adnan (username: Nabil Adnan) as the Financial Officer - Dhaka of WheelsBD!
Please join me to welcome the new appointments... [Read More]

Filling station owners have threatened a countrywide shutdown of their pumps unless the government meets certain demands, including raising their commission from 2 to 7 percent, within the next two weeks.
Announcing the 13-point charter of demands and the ultimatum to the government on Sunday, they said pumps would be closed for six hours from 6am to noon on Mar 14 if their demands were not met by March 13.
"All transport and sales of fuel will remain suspended during the period," said Md Nazmul Haq, convener of Bangladesh Petrol Pump and Tanker Owners and Workers Unity Council.

For Toyota Owners |
|
Mar 01, 2010 - 12:44 AM - by mTDI

As you all know, there is a risk of a problem with the accelerator pedal in certain Toyota models. If you have not experienced the problem, it is highly unlikely that you will. Toyota also have announced a voluntary recall on the latest, third-generation Prius built before 27 January 2010 for a software upgrade in the anti-lock braking system.
A worldwide recall being undertaken is precautionary as only a tiny percentage of the vehicles could develop the problem.
This is a video I have received from Toyota UK:
YouTube - Pedal Recall Video Toyota UK
Toyota dealers are working with local Vehicle registration agencies in most of the countries worldwide to track down notify their owners for a free checkup.
Unfortunately, most of the Toyota owners in Bangladesh are unaware of this situation and most... [Read More]

Getting your money's worth at the CNG stations? |
|
Feb 27, 2010 - 7:10 PM - by medexam70
|
Last night I refuelled at the CNG pump near Dhaka Sheraton- the counter showed that 298 taka's worth of CNG had been pumped into my vehicle. I'm only mentioning this petty fact because I have a 60 Litre cylinder and had never ever had to pay more than 270 taka at even excellent filling pressure . I pointed out the fact to the stuffs of the pump-they insisted that the figure is alright and tried to scorn me for being resentful for paying for the extra gas.
I'm asking for comments on this matter, I'll be very happy to pay for the extra amount of gas if they are indeed delivering it. But I don't think they are- its just another exapmle of stealing our hard earned money
